Schedule
THURSDAY JANUARY 22
Cracked Up
(FREE CRACK) The third annual Week of Fun comedy festival starts today, showcasing the best of Seattle’s alternative comedy scene. What exactly does that mean? How should I know? I’M A FUCKING ROBOT! Stranger Gong Show winner Solomon Georgio is scheduled to perform, so isn’t that enough? Visit www.weekoffun.com for more info.
(Capitol Club, 414 E Pine St (206) 325-2149 8 pm, all ages, free)
REVIEW-BOT 2000
FRIDAY JANUARY 23
Lo-Ball Double Feature
(TWO ‘BALLS) Lo-Ball! (the local Ballard comedy show) is a show that allows local performers to stretch their legs and try out new material. Tonight it stretches its own legs into two separate shows! 9pm starts Sketchball, where you will see the sketch comedy duo “The Cory and Doug Show” followed by two foreign artists forcing their bad art upon you in “The Super Mega Art Show”. Then stick around for the 11pm Fresh Faces Showcase featuring some of Seattle’s youngest comedians staying up way past their bedtimes.
(Live Girls Theater, 2220 NW Market, 9pm & 11pm, all ages, $5)
DARTANION LONDON
SATURDAY JANUARY 24
Dartmondo/Blood Squad Improv Night
(MAKE UP AND DIE) Two of Seattle’s top improv groups join forces for one night of hilarity and death! Dartmondo blends standup and improv, Blood Squad blends horror and comedy. Tonight we hit the “frappe” button on both. Can I come up with another blender analogy? Sure! Watch as these two groups “break the ice” to “liquefy” your guts into laughter!
(Live Girls Theater, 2220 NW Market, 9pm, all ages, $10)
DARTANION LONDON
SUNDAY JANUARY 25
Celebrity Open Mic
(CELEBRITIES OPEN UP) Tonight we hand the sweaty mic over to your local celebrities. Expect to see Almost Live!’s John Keister, KIRO/NPR’s Luke Burbank, Movin 92.5’s Monti Carlo and award-winning cartoonist Peter Bagge tell stories, read their diaries, or talk about whatever the hell it was that made them famous. More celebrities than we can fit in this space!
(Comedy Underground, 109 S Washington St, 8pm, all ages, $10)
DARTANION LONDON
MONDAY JANUARY 26
Show and Tell Show
(BRING ENOUGH FOR THE WHOLE CLASS) The redundantly named Show and Tell Show forces Seattle’s best stand-up comedians to perform anything but stand-up. Expect to see some improv, weirdo character pieces and probably some uncontrollable weeping. Visit www.weekoffun.com for more info.
(Rendezvous, 2322 2nd Ave (206) 441-5823, 8 pm, 21+, $5)

TUESDAY JANUARY 27
Parks and Seattle Center
(MAKE LIKE A TREE) Today, before going to a comedy show in the evening, why not go to the City Council’s Parks and Seattle Center committee meeting? You could dress up like a tree. I’ll bet nobody’s ever done that. It’s not against the rules and you could make a public comment! While dressed like a tree! If you dress like a tree and do this we’ll let you into tonight’s show for free.
(City Hall, Council Chambers (2nd Floor), 9:30am, all ages, free)

TUESDAY JANUARY 27
Entertainment Show
(YOUR LAST CHANCE) Every month at the Sunset Tavern for the last two years, Entertainment Show creators Travis Vogt and Kevin Clarke have brought their uniquely violent and stupid sketch sensibilities to the variety show format. And now, after dozens of videos, countless inane live bits and even a full-length feature film, they have run out of ideas. And so January 27th will be your very last chance to bear witness to this historically inconsequential show. Guests include Derek Sheen, Geoff Brousseau and David Crowe.
(Sunset Tavern, 5433 Ballard Ave NW, 9pm, 21+, $6)

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 28
Laff Hole
(FILL YOUR HOLE) The Week of Fun comedy festival concludes today with a bang (well, hopefully not a real bang, as this is at Chop Suey) as the flagship show of the People’s Republic of Komedy, Laff Hole, returns to their old home. Founding members Emmett Montgomery, Kevin Hyder and Dan Carroll are slated to close things out, along with sketch/music/video freaks Black Daisy. Visit www.weekoffun.com for more info.
(Chop Suey, 1325 E Madison St, (206) 324-8000, 9pm, 21+, $7)
