Black Daisy (pictured at left) closed out the Week of Fun last night at Laff Hole as their metal-head alter-egos in front of another packed house.

Great performances from PROK founders Kevin Hyder, Emmett Montgomery and Dan Carroll. Surprise appearances from 2008 Seattle International Comedy Competition Winner Tommy Savitt and comedy genius Eugen Mirman. So. Much. Awesomeness. Must. Sleep. Now.

Last night was not only the second-to-last night of the Week of Fun, but it was also the final Entertainment Show ever, as Kevin and Travis retire their monthly run at the Sunset after two years of drunken hi-jinx.

The place was completely packed, the fourth sold-out show in Ballard this week. Maybe we should move ALL the shows to Ballard next year!

Tonight the Week of Fun ends with the much anticipated return of Laff Hole, with founding members Emmett Montgomery, Dan Carroll and Kevin Hyder, along with video/sketch/music weirdos Black Daisy and an amazing assortment of all-star guests. (Chop Suey, 1325 E Madison St, (206) 324-8000, 9pm, 21+, $7)

Last night we had a most excellent show at the Rendez-vous Jewelbox Theatre, with stories, video, and indescribable things. Well, I would tell you more, but I’d rather list things you missed out on, unless you were one of those present. Here’s what you missed:
1. Dinosaurs
2. Pie (Really)
3. Stories about insane people and long nights
4. Self-help
5. A burnt out road comic
6. Letters from a pimp

Pretty awesome. If you know much about awesome things.

Last night was a rollicking* good time with tons of local celebrities.

Narwhal Fight

War was averted when Pro-Narwhal Ross Parsons and Anti-Narwhal Peter Bagge set aside their differences while being wrapped in a Narwhal burrito.

John Keister

John Keister told the story of an evil gold Lambroghini that was too fast for red light cameras.

Luke Burbank

Luke Burbank thanked the organizers for propping up the walls with a “load-bearing poster”.

Maddie

Maddie from Canary Sing told us about skeezy recording studio guys… and girls?

Charles Mudede

Charles Mudede told us that Zimbabwean infidelity is common, which doesn’t excuse it, but that also does not imply that one should expect it not to be common, yet we are looking at the issue here from a practical standpoint, not from a judgemental paradigm, but that also shouldn’t imply that we are ignoring the ethical issues involved therein.

(Hearing it with his accent makes him sound even smarter.)

Look in the photos page for even more pictures!

*What the hell does that word mean, anyway? Can you ever have something that’s rollicking WITHOUT it also being a good time?

Live Girls Theater - Sold Out!

This has been a trend for the weekend shows. If you want a good seat for tonight’s Celebrity Open Mic at the Comedy Underground, I’d show up early!

WoF Dartmondo 09

Audiences were treated to standup from Kevin Hyder, Andy Peters, and Toby Brown, and improv from Amanda Williams, Graham Downing, and Dartanion London. Then the standups were invited to do improv, and all hell broke loose…

WoF Blood Squad 09

…which is good, since Blood Squad deals in Hell every day. Last night they premiered their brand new format “I Will Not Be Ignored!”, based on the “Psycho Stalkers” movie genre. They brought the house down to the point I’d expect they’ll have some psycho stalkers of their very own soon.

See ya tonight!
